On 28 of March an extraordinary global event will take place all around the world,the''EARTH HOUR''..

The purpose of this campaign is to fight the global warming.For the very first time,people all around the world will have their opportunity to use their light switch as their vote,to participate in this world's first global election,''EARTH vs global warming''.

Up to a billion of people will switch off their lights to send this powerful message to our leaders to take an action against the global warming.Earth Hour 2009 is to create the platform of support action on climate change.All our leaders are due to meet at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen to sign a new deal to supersede the Kyoto Protocol.

This event was started in Sydney in 2007,where more than 2 million premises switched off their lights for one hour.This action has captured the attention worldwide.In 2008,more than 300 cities across 35 countries has turned their lights out in a unite call for action on climate change.

2009,the number of cities signing up for this event has exceeded the target of 1000 set by the organiser of Earth Hour.Earth Hour 2009 will also see the lights goes out on some of the landmarks around the world.This including the CN Tower in Toronto,Merlion in Singapore,Sydney Opera House and also the tallest building,Taipei 101.In Malaysia,some of the iconic building that paticipate in this event are KL Tower and Penang Bridge.


WWF are urging everyone to take part in this global event.So everyone please,remember,28 of March 2009,8.30 pm,vote EARTH,switch off your lights for one hour.We only have one Earth,your vote might helps to change the world.
